I think all four of them are required to run a business. But, depending on the nature of business, one should decide % of each of those. A vibrant electronic product development company and a Insurance service provider (claims processing and insurance selling) should not have same proportion of each one. If they do, then there is something wrong with the "sustainability" of business even though stock prices could be phenomenal!

Thanks

I feel that the innate nature of someone would be to predominantly fit in one of the four categories. But then the culture in the organization does play its affect and can either uplift or downgrade in the 2X2 matrix you talked about.

Let's say Pyne did realize that he had either very left or right winged teams without a balance... how would you say he should've taken a course corrective action?

Excellent article!! Just this morning, I came across Dr. Devdutt's presentation in Mysore last year where he talks about "Why is India different from the west" and I must admit that I have become an instant fan of Dr. Devdutt.

I just fell in love with his concept of explaining today's business world with Indian mythology.

Looking forward for more similar articles. The presentation I was talking earlier can be found at - http://www.allaboutpresentations.com/2010/01/ted-india-talk-devdutt-pattanaik-why-is.html
