Kama Vs Yama

Aug 17, 2011 | Books.

My Latest – A Children’s book !

  • Who made Kama disappear?
  • Why is Yama always so serious?
  • Will the two ever stop fighting?

Jayshree loves doing homework ! But one day, instead of studying, she hears voices out in the garden and goes out to see who’s there. She meets a strange man called Kama. Poor Kamawas made invisible by an angry Shiva once. Now that Jayshree can see him he shows her with all the magic he can do—make butterflies appear, bees buzz, fill the garden with fragrant flowers. But then Yama appears, and he does not like playing at all! Yama believes only in working. Kama and Yama start fighting about who Jayshree will be friends with. Who do you think Jayshree will choose—the fun-loving, naughty Kama, or the stern, no-nonsense Yama?

    Devdutt ji,

I have been a fan of yours ever since I read 7 secrets of Calender Art -about 1.5 years ago.

I recently got the books in children’s series for the children in our family and they finished 4 of them today !!!

I made my daughter (now in class 6) read the entire Amar Chitra Katha – 427 titles – over last 2 years or so.

She felt that your books were different and better since they brought out the why and not just the what behind the stories.

May Lord give you strength and power to bring out even more such books and may be even make them online readable – for free may be or for a small price to spread the word.

This is truely the work of Dharma and as we know Yato Dharmo Tato Vijaya.

I sit on the management committee of one of the larger schools run by Vidya Bharati (Saraswati Shishu Mandir) in Delhi.

Would love to introduce these to children. Can I get a bulk / special rate – say if we buy 1000 copies ??

    Bharat
